From a humble ECD class at the home of Mr and Mrs Shanyika to a growing boarding and day college at Treffusis Farm, Evensha College has been built through vision, community support and determination.
The spirit of “Excellence and Perfection” remains at the heart of Evensha College’s mission.

Evensha College is located at Treffusis Farm, 20km from Bindura, in a quiet resettlement setting. The school was founded in 2015 with a single ECD class operating from the home of Mr and Mrs Shanyika.
The idea was born during a community meeting in January 2015 where settlers agreed that every ward should have its own primary school.
It took six months for the Shanyika family to fully embrace the idea. One night, Mrs Shanyika dreamt of the school uniform and felt a strong conviction to begin the project.
The first learners began their journey in 2015, paying a modest $3 per month per child.
Mr and Mrs Shanyika approached Acris Primary School, which agreed to be the mother school. Mrs Shanyika initially served as ECD teacher while training Mrs Ngoma and Mrs Masora.
By 2018, the school had constructed its first permanent structures. With the introduction of Grade 4, the school shifted from the Shanyika family home to the formal site at Treffusis Farm.
New teachers joined, including Mr Paundi and Mrs Antonio, and in 2019 college student Mrs Makiwa became part of the staff.
The first class of 2015 sat for Grade 7 and achieved a pass rate of 88%. In 2023, Grade 7 results achieved 100%, placing Evensha College 5th in the district.
The school’s continued success inspired the desire to introduce Ordinary Level classes in 2023. The school has grown its secondary stream gradually toward completion.

Why the school was established and what continues to drive it.
EVENSHA College was founded with the intention of providing the peri-urban community a high standard, low fee, broad based primary and secondary school education in an atmosphere conducive to harmony and understanding between different ethnic groups.
The college is a non-racial, Christian and co-educational institution. The project has one object in mind: to supply an educational establishment for children of Mashonaland Central that offers an education as good as can be obtained anywhere.
The hostel need arose after the first Grade 7 examinations in October 2022, following nine years of establishment. Currently the Administration offices are complete, whilst the teachers and Headmaster houses have been completed.
